Episode #3 - RockGirl (part 1) & the Limelight Afterglow

NSFW

We're back! Too long away... Thanks for everyone who stayed with us and kept bugging us for new episodes. And welcome to all the new listeners!

This time we give a nod to the David's new album Limelight Afterglow. It's an inspired pop romp through the club scene of Chicago and New York in the late 80s. Congratulations David! He worked long and hard on it – four years – so we encourage you to give it a long, hard listen.

We also have part one of a really great, honest, interview with Vicki Abelson, aka RockGirl. Find out what the famed music promoter of the New York clubs of the 80s and early 90s (you may sense a theme here) is doing these days. She's awesome. We were really bowled over by the way she opened up about her work, her passions and her addictions.

Vicki's literary salon Women Who Write -- which she runs from her home outside of L.A. -- has seen the likes of Jackie Collins, Marlee Matlin, Kelly Carlin, Sonya Sones, Wendy Liebman, Bruce Vilanch, Carol Liefer, Paul Provenza, Eve Brandstein, and one of my favorites: Marc Maron. Plus many, many more. Yes, some of them aren't women. Find out why. Listen:

Note: Oh, I know the audio is shit. I KNOW. I engineered  it this time, not David. He's got the skills. Sorry... I hope it's not too bad... (I'll work on it.) -- Brett
